I guess last weekend was a visit-your-inlaws-weekend. Almost every married friends i have went to visit their in-laws. My boring weekend (with hubby away for 3 days) turned out to be a mommy+baby shopping day.

Saturday, Kamillya and I together with my sister and her 2 daughters went to Tesco in Puchong just for jewelry shopping. The target place is Poh Kong. I bought necklace, pendant and bangle just for Kamillya. My hubby choked when i told him how much i spent on those 3 items when he called that nite!

That day didn’t just end there. On the way home from sis’ hse, i make a pit stop at GEM. Thot of buying gifts for 2 mommies who just gave birth (including Nazelyna who gave birth to a baby girl that Saturday) and also since Kamillya is still wide awake so the idea is to tire her off. Yupp! bought the gifts but knowing me when at Aussino…also bought a dress and skirt for my little one and a pajama for myself.

Sunday, as early as 9.55am both kamillya and myself were at the entrance of Alpha Angle. Hiks! I bought 2 seed t-shirts for Kamillya, a blouse and 2 selendang for myself (Wondering why i bought 2 selendang..??). Saw this one nice long skirt but they only have s and xxl sizes. Yikes!

That late afternoon, Kamillya doesn’t seem wants to take her 2nd nap and i can’t seem to get rid of that skirt from my mind so i gave her bath… siap²… straight went to Jaya Jusco @ Maluri. Dpt gak that skirt hehehe. Plus i bought a pants, a shirt and another couple of selendang (why selendang lg??).

That’s how my weekend goes when hubby is not around. Next weekend hubby promised to give all his attention to both of us. We’ve arranged for something. Now i’m not sure which one i’ll enjoy more. Weekend with hubby or with out hubby. Will just have to wait and see.

Mommies Meet Up

Monday, February 20th, 2006

I really had a great time during our meet up. Sorry for putting this in blog ages since the meet up itself. I was on leave for 3 days last week. Our meet up was on Saturday 11th Feb. The day before that our team had Thaipusam leave so Kamillya and i had lunch with my sis wawa at Souled out cafe. Arrived a bit late because Kamillya accidently took a longer nap this time. Kesian Bibi Wa tunggu lama kat office.

Then Saturday was the meet up. I brought seedless grapes aje. Altho there was only 5 of us tp foods punya la byk! I didn’t even get the chance to taste kek yg Rad bawa pun sbb dah kenyang sgt. But the cake looks so yummy! Should have just tapau bawa balik. Hiks! I really had a great time sampai nak balik pun susah. I told them i had to leave early because need to attend birthday party. I end up leaving the house one hour later. Chit chating sampai tak ingat time. Thank you Azlea (the host), Farah, Rad and Sherry. Best sgt dpt jumpa you all. Oh! Kamillya enjoyed herself too playing with Hani’s toys minus Hani and all the other children. My baby still can’t get the idea of playing and sharing with others. Mabbe because dia dah biasa main toys dia sorg² kot.

From Azlea’s house straight up to Wan’s house for her son, Haziq Zafran’s birthday. Kamillya slept in the car on the way there. Penat sgt la tu. She’s still asleep when we arrived there so i just left her in the car (which was parked very near by the party area). Only Naz was there. Jun and Yahuza can’t make it because expecting mom need to rest. Ema pun tak dtg. Was hoping to meet them all actually.

I think it is very healthy to have this kind of meet up or what they called it support group. I watched 123 Dutch Lady the other day and i remembered Sofia Jane said that in Indonesia they have and encourage this kind of gathering. I was thinking to have another meet up soon like this Saturday perhaps if its not too short notice. What d’ya think ladies? The actual reason to have it this Saturday is because hubby is away for 3 days. But actually i’m happy to have it when everyone is free. Just let me know when, who and what to bring/prepare. The venue this time will be at my house if that’s ok with everybody laa.

That’s it. Back to work now.

ps:will post all the photos in fotopages soon!

Sepet vs Gol & Gincu

Wednesday, February 8th, 2006

Last Aidilfitri, i watched these two malay movies. Sepet is a romantic movie about two teenagers namely Ah Loong and Orked (such a classic name! my next baby girl’s name perhaps). Probably i’m not an artistic person but i don’t find anything interesting in this movie except for the teenage love, family and friendship. Plus, i don’t understand the ending. Did the boy died or not?? But i do love the setting. It’s so classic!

Whereas Gol & Gincu is a story abt this girly girl who loves being a …girl but was dumped by her boyfren and in order to win him back she took up futsal i.e. the ex’s fav game. Ada org kata this movie mcm cerita Bend It Like Beckham but i’ve never had the chance to watch that. The story is more abt friendship (i wish i culd have a best buddy like Mia!), determination, family, and also sumbang mahram. Probably you gonna say that it is more or less just like Sepet, but i don’t know why or what that makes this movie really watchable for me.

Maybe because it’s a very relaxing, easy and very cute movie kot. I’m not into film yg i nak kena pikir byk² plak. I mean the reason we watch movie is mainly because we want to relax isn’t it so why would i want to watch something yg heavy yg nak kena pikir² logic plak.

Yasmin Ahmad is very creative. I know that by heart. Just watch all her advertisement. All very touchy! But somehow the movie mcm ada kurang rasa sikit mcm kuah kari kurang garam. Chewah! Also probably because i put such high expectation on the movie. Anyway, i’m happy and proud of the acknowledgement they received for this movie. Among them are:

  • Winner of Best Film - M’sian Film Festival
  • Winner of Best Asean Feature Film
  • Winner of The Crerteil International Festival - Women’s Films France
  • Official Selection - Barcelona Asian Film Festival
  • Official Selection - San Francisco International Film Festival.
